By Anne Clarke
If you have a condition that causes oxygen depravation, you have most likely have been put on some form of medical oxygen by your physician, and/or specialist. Your condition, be it asthma, lung cancer, emphysema or anything else, is treated based on your age, medical history, and other kinds of considerations. Specific kinds of oxygen medicines are more effective in certain cases than others. There are several kinds of treatments from which to choose.
As with many medical conditions, a doctor determines the proper treatment on a case – by – case basis. Because of the many types of treatment, there are also many methods of treatment – different oxygen delivery systems have been developed for both portability and home use in addition to hospital use.
For many people, achieving the most possible mobility that their condition will allow is, to him or her, a very important part of their treatment. Different mechanisms such as refillable oxygen tanks, home – portable oxygen tanks, nebulizers, and even equipment for outdoor portable oxygen tanks.
Depending on the severity of your specific condition – you may be able to enjoy much more in life than you thought could at this point. Perhaps you never imagined playing with your children or grandchildren in the park again. Think of the wonderful surprises you can discover with the growing technology of medicinal oxygen equipment.
Many people are thrilled with even smaller capabilities – like having the freedom to move about their own homes. Of course, all of this new technology you have to choose from should be the treatment of choice agreed upon by yourself or your doctor. Please be especially careful to follow your doctor’s instructions to the letter – sometimes new oxygen equipment (kind of like a computer) may take a while to learn how to operate.
